How to keep the kids occupied when travelling abroad for your holidays

When planning a family holiday abroad you will most likely be travelling via plane or maybe boat for a number of hours and when travelling with young children this can seem a little daunting. If you have older children they will probably be happy to play on devices such as their phones or tablets to pass the time, however, younger children have a much shorter attention span so you will need to prepare for lots of activity changes to keep them busy (and quiet!)
It’s a good idea to try to plan some activities that are not too messy and will keep little hands busy. Here’s a few ideas of activities you could try:
- Note book and stickers – this is a really cheap and cheerful activity and will keep your children occupied whilst they fill the pages with their favourite sticker and the plus side is – its mess-free.
- Fidget toys- there are such a wide range of fidget toys available now and they are loved by children of all ages. You can often pick them up in pound shops or order online as a large selection of toys designed to keep hands busy.
- White board and pens – rather than carrying lots of colouring books or pages with you a white board is a great option as it can easily be wiped clean.
