Checking your holiday plans before you travel

With the recent events that have unfolded in the Caribbean over the last few days, it is no wonder many people are panicking about their holidays. If you have a holiday booked to the Caribbean then you need to get in touch with your holiday tour operator and ask them what the situation is. Even if they say that the place you are meant to be going to has not been affected, you still may be put off from going. It may be that there are disruptions to your flights or delays in getting to and from your accommodation, all of which you need to consider. Although some companies and insurance policies will cover you in the event of a holiday being cancelled due to adverse weather, some may not and if it is deemed safe for you to travel there, then you will almost certainly not be entitled to a refund or to change the date of your holiday without incurring extra costs.
Safety is the most important thing, so if you are not happy travelling then you may wish to try and seek an alternative destination, even if it does cost you a little more.
