Saving money on food when on holiday

If you have booked a self catering holiday then you will need to factor in the cost of food and drink. This can often add up to over a £100 a day for 2 people if you are intending on eating out for every meal and having a few drinks too. If you are going away for a week or two this can very quickly hike up the price and leave you with very little spending money.
One way in which you can try and cut down on your food bill is to prepare some of the food back at your accommodation. If you are staying in a caravan or apartment then you may have access to a kitchen. This will allow you to prepare most meals and maybe only eat out for one meal a day or a few times a week. If you are staying in hotel room then you may find it a little more difficult. You could always take a few bowls with you and some cereal and then buy a little bottle of milk to keep in the fridge. It also may be cheaper to buy premade sandwiches from a local supermarket to take out with you on the beach or to eat by the pool side which may well say you £20 a day!
