Family holidays 2016

Yet again families are facing the battle of being able to afford a family holiday during school holidays. Holiday companies have been increasing prices during school holidays for a number of years now, and you can often expect to pay at least double the price of your holiday if you have to go out of term time.
If you have children under school age then I would strongly recommend trying to have a holiday prior to them starting school as you will be able to go a lot cheaper than when you have to book in holiday periods.
Sometimes children under 2 are free, so again this is a good time to go although some parents feel that they do not want to take a child abroad at such a young age.
You can apply to some schools to see if you can have a holiday during term time but this has to be put before the governors and is often only given in exceptional circumstances.
