A family holiday can be very important. It is a great way to spend time with each other but affording a holiday is often a struggle for many families.
A holiday is often not just a luxury but for some people it is essential to give them the break they need. Often if parents are working long hours they may not get to see each other as much as they would like, plus spending time with the children is limited to the occasional weekend. Going away on holiday is a chance for everyone to switch off, recharge their batteries and spend time doing something they enjoy as a family.
Although many families go abroad for their holiday, you do not have to. There are plenty of places to go in the UK where you can still have a fantastic time.
If going on holiday in the UK you may just have to plan for a different type of holiday. Whereas some people like to spend their holiday on the beach, in the UK as you cannot always guarantee the weather, you may want to do a city break or a holiday that involves a lot of sight-seeing. You may be lucky enough to have a few hot summer days, in which case the UK beaches are a must. If you head down to Newquay on the South West coast of England, you will find the beaches are a thing of beauty and you will feel like you are in another country.
